4 Beauty Tips to Improve Your Skin
So I am officially another year older.
In the midst of trying not to get an anxiety attack because of my age, and packing to move across the world again, I decided - what better way to celebrate my impending doom (I kid), than to impart some beauty knowledge.
1. There is no cream for dark eye circles. Stop spending your money on them. There ARE creams that will help fine lines, and I recommend Dermalogica's Age Reversal Eye Complex but dark circles? It is hereditary, and there's basically no cure for it. I should know. What you should do is go to a dermatologist (If you're in Singapore, I recommend Dr. Komathy of The Lifestyle Clinic. She specializes in darker skin and she's bomb. Tell her I sent ya.) and peel the living daylights out of those circles once every few years. There is nothing as freeing as the confidence not to have to dab concealer before you leave home.
2. Don't forget your sunscreen. I don't care if it's cloudy out, or it's 44°C. Going without it means you're exposing your skin to the harmful rays of the sun, which ages your skin faster. Instead of trying to find solutions to your sun spots, prevent them from happening!
3. Your skin is what you eat. Not gonna lie. I have lived in LA long enough to, ahem, be lactose, and gluten intolerant and I down a cocktail of supplements for my skin, and general health. There is something, however, incredibly luxurious about having someone else apply a mask on your skin with a brush. Also, I have a new addiction to microcurrent facials. So good.
